Omni Block System 12

Combining Thermal Mass and Insulation

A low impact CarbonKind™ product.

Omni Block is a uniquely designed block with that is multi-layered with constricted (reduced) and offset cross webbing that create individual cells. System 12 consists of a Stretcher, and a Corner/Jamb unit. Corner conditions can utilize System 8 Left and Right Corner/Jamb units. Regular 12x8x16 CMU and half block can be used as needed with System 12.

Cells are filled with corresponding foam insulation inserts (two models). The inserts are 3/8″ taller than the block in order to insulate the horizontal mortar joints. The vertical mortar joints are insulated due to the overlapping feature (from block-to-block) of the short insert. The “whole wall” is insulated, not just individual block.

California Energy Code (CEC) recognizes the effects of thermal mass in energy design, and states 8-inch wide or larger solid grouted concrete masonry does not require insulation in climate zones encompassing the metropolitan areas of Southern California for nonresidential projects.

For projects where requirements exceed the CEC, Omni Block is the preferred choice for maximum performance.
